Godparents in India
Kolajna Ljubavi is proud to announce the expansion of its “Godparents” project to India, starting in early 2025. Building on our success in Africa, our goal is to support the education of even more underprivileged children.
Through the “Godparents” project, we provide access to education for orphans and children from impoverished families, from kindergarten to university. In India, we place special focus on supporting girls, who often face greater social and economic barriers to education.
Partnership with Visitation Sisters Missionaries
This initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Visitation Sisters, a congregation of missionaries operating in Kerala, southern India. These sisters have been part of our work since their mission in Tanzania, where they assisted Ivana Marasović during the construction of St. Anthony’s orphanage. Their dedication and local involvement are essential to the project’s success, ensuring that all funds reach the children they are meant to support.
Education in India
The Indian education system consists of:
- Primary school (grades 1 – 4),
- Secondary school (grades 5 – 10),
- Higher secondary school (two-year program after grade 10),
- University.
The academic year begins in June and is divided into two semesters: June to December and January to June.
Education Costs
The annual cost of tuition and school supplies for one child is 280 euros.
Join Our Mission
We invite everyone to become part of our journey in India by becoming Godparent and helping us expand Kolajna’s chain of love. Every godparent makes a difference, transforming the world one child at a time.
