Croatian Wings of Help: Foreign Affairs Ministry Visits Us in Tanzania

We had the honor of welcoming Ms. Marija and Mr. Dragan from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, who visited our base in Songea as part of their field visit to the "Croatian Wings of Help" project.

They were greeted by our project manager, Ivana, along with Luka, a physiotherapist and expert collaborator on the project. During the visit, they had the opportunity to see firsthand how Croatian development aid contributes to improving the quality of life for vulnerable groups in Tanzania, a country that has long been on the unfortunate list of the world's poorest nations.

Our guests took part in various project activities, including IT workshops and creative sessions on making coconut candles and sewing bags from traditional African materials.

Since the project provides support to people with disabilities through individual and group physiotherapy exercises, our visitors from the Ministry had the chance to witness how these activities aid the rehabilitation of this particularly vulnerable group.

They also toured the physiotherapy department at the regional hospital and visited young female students and scholarship recipients who, thanks to the project's financial support, now have the opportunity to pursue their desired professions. One particularly moving moment was meeting the tailors and other young women who, through the project, received assistance in starting their businesses and acquiring the necessary equipment.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our friends from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs for traveling so far to visit us and see the positive impact that this, and similar projects, have on communities across Africa.
